Today, using the example of several planning solutions for kitchens with an area of 7 sq. M. we will show you how you can beat the situation with maximum benefit.
A few general kitchen recommendations
- For a kitchen of 7 sq.m. furniture (bottom row of cabinets) with a depth of 40-50 cm should be installed. So, even with a “g” or “p” -shaped layout, there will be enough space to accommodate a full-fledged dining table in the room.
- It is better to set aside the area near the window for a dining group or for a work area with a sink.
- You should not install a sink that is too deep and massive; you can limit yourself to a small square or round bowl, which will save the useful area of the working area.
The arrangement of kitchen furniture and appliances along one wall will help to use the rest of the room area with no less benefit, for example, install a soft corner for three seats near the window, and a table. As a result, six people can be accommodated here at the same time.
The work surface, including the sink, stove and countertop, will make it possible to comfortably handle and prepare food. Under a single table top can be placed: dishwasher, oven, pull-out storage sections. Also, there is a spacious refrigerator (60x60cm).
An interesting U-shaped layout, which provides for the location of the refrigerator and sink along one wall, and the stove on the opposite. Thus, having taken out and washed the food, you can process them near a wide countertop along the wall with a window, and then cook at the stove.
There will also be enough space in the kitchen for a spacious refrigerator and a small table for three or four people. A dishwasher can be built under the worktop by the window or near the sink; it is more appropriate to build an oven under the electric stove.
This variant of the L-shaped layout can be used for a kitchen combined with a living room: a small folding dining table is designed for 4-6 people and visually divides two functional rooms.
Kitchen furniture and appliances installed along adjacent walls maintain and support the idea of the most convenient sequence of placing the refrigerator, sink and stove, while at the same time, there is enough work surface between them to handle food.
Please note: the sink is installed opposite the window, which will undoubtedly please any housewife.
Another version of the L-shaped kitchen layout, with some amendments, for example: a sink installed in the corner or closer to it significantly increases the area of the working surface, making it as functional as possible. At the same time, the sequence is maintained (refrigerator, sink, stove), and various household appliances or storage boxes can be mounted around the entire perimeter of the countertop, that is, under it.
As a result, there is free space, including near the window, in order to set a good dining table on the periphery of the kitchen-living room.
Examples of real kitchen layouts
Good: The kitchen looks light and compact, with the main furniture represented by a lower “U” -shaped row of cabinets, over which neat hanging shelves are installed.
Bad: All attention should be focused on this: the stove is located directly next to the window, while there is no extractor hood. Presumably, the refrigerator is located in another part of the kitchen-living room, which is very inconvenient, since it is far from the sink.
Good: The sequence of the arrangement of the refrigerator, sink and stove is followed, and the worktop is combined with the bar counter, thereby eliminating the need for an additional dining area. The work surfaces are well lit and the cooker is equipped with an extractor hood.
Bad: For some, having such a small number of cabinets and storage boxes can be a significant drawback.
Good: Thoughtful placement of the main objects (refrigerator, sink, stove), complemented by excellent lighting of work surfaces and an extractor hood, therefore, in such a kitchen it will always be easy to keep order. Austere smooth fronts, laconic straight shapes and shallow depth of cabinets form space for free movement around the kitchen. Furniture is represented by a large number of cabinets and sections for storing and placing household appliances.
Bad: There is no such thing, everything is thought out
